In the Franklin Method we say  . . .

If you have no control over your thoughts then your movement patterns will not change and you will endlessly recycle old habits. The brain is a recording device so if we focus on recording new  positive experiences and movement patterns, the body will get better at reproducing these new patterns.


"Embodiment of function improves function"

If the image, feeling  and knowledge you have of how your body is designed anatomically corresponds to its actual design and function , you will move efficiently. Inefficient movement causes tension, pain & wear and tear so it is imperative that we work with the design of the body not against it!


"Bone rhythms are the way the bones naturally move inside your body to produce safe and efficient movement"

In the Franklin Method we focus on understanding these 3D bone rhythms so we move efficiently.  If we work against the bone rhythms we create tension. 


"Get better at what you do, especially at what you do most of the time"

Why? An hour of exercise , even done well, cannot counteract what you do with your body for the remaining 23 hours. By focusing on how we walk, sit, breathe & rest everything you do becomes an opportunity for exercise!


"Practice makes permanent whatever you are practicing!"

So if your posture is crooked or your shoulders are tense from holding you up all day then you will get better at being crooked and tense! Release your tension, become aware of your posture ,understand how to move well and start loving life in your own body!
