Contrology is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit
The work of one man, Joseph Pilates, is now taught all over the world in mat classes and studios alike.
Contrology , the term he used to describe his method, seeks to "develop the body uniformly, correct wrong postures, restore physical vitality , invigorate the mind and elevate the spirit". Contrology therefore not only develops the body but also the mind.
My philosphy . . .
I passionately believe in people looking after their bodies . Exercise regimes offering short term gains at the expense of long term body and joint health have become all too common. As Joseph Pilates himself said, "Rome was not built in a day! Patience and persistence are vital qualities in any worthwhile endeavour".
With this in mind I try to offer solutions which seek to improve our body's longevity. We do this through a combination of mind-body techniques, tension release , controlled exercise progression emphasising efficiency and a constant awareness of what we do with our bodies while not exercising! Classes are fun and varied so that no two weeks are alike which helps keep people engaged and coming back for more!
