2-hour Pelvic Floor Workshop
Are you training your pelvic floor effectively?
The pelvic floor is an area that is poorly understood and for many, an area that is a cause for concern and needs some attention.
Strong yet flexible!
The pelvic floor is a complex 3-dimensional muscular structure which has many functions which can appear contradictory!
It needs to be strong and supportive for the organs but also flexible to allow for elimination, pelvic movements and birth.
Needs dynamic training
Traditional pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) focus on shortening or holding the muscles in position. The pelvic floor however often has to lengthen in everyday movements so we need to train our pelvic floors dynamically. This builds overall body awareness , flexibility and strength.
Conscious pelvic floor training helps in many ways
Pelvic floor training can help with many back, knee and foot problems , breathing, core strength .... the list goes on!
The aim of this workshop is that you leave with:
a) A clear understanding of the structure of your pelvic floor
b) An understanding of how to train it dynamically
c) A repertoire of seated and mat based exercises using soft balls for additional challenge
d) A clear idea of everyday activities that your pelvic floor is involved in giving you lots of opportunities to exercise your pelvic floor
